White Sox announce Spring Training invites

Nate Nolan? Are they serious? Not only have I never heard of this guy, but his stats are abysmal. Is this guy 100% glove? I would have expected them to bring in another vet with a little MLB experience.

He appears to be a catcher, so sure.

Among the Tribe of Twenty are six minor FA's with Matt Skole and the curious Donn Roach back from Japan.

It's always fun seeing the prospects in ST games. The highlight of last spring was the grand slam by Robert.

Spencer Adams has really fallen our favor with the organization huh.

Another wasted pick. Right up there with Tyler Danish and Chris Beck.

Adams was a good pick, unfortunately his velocity disappeared.

From high school kids it isn't uncommon.  One you might remember is Jon Garland.

Same thing applies to Lucas Giolito. He threw in the high 90's when he was in high school. Now he tops out at like 94.

No worries.  Nolan is only going to be there because, with all the pitchers in camp, you need a lot of catchers and minor league guys don't show up right away.  Nolan's an org guy in all probability, so don't read too much into this.
