April 4, 20197 yr Are you forgetting that Santana is probably going to be joining the rotation soon? The Sox have both Nova and Santana for that "veteran presence". The Rotation of Rodon, Giolito, Lopez, Nova and Santana is ok. Then there is the possibility of Cease being added later in the season. Banuelos is also available, if needed.
April 4, 20197 yr If Reinsdorf had gone all-in and signed Harper and Machado, I would imagine they would have signed Dallas too - and others. The Cubs have a 205 mil payroll. The Sox could have gone to 185-190 million and been equally compelling. It would have been worth going into hoc and getting two full season packages to show my appreciation. That was a once-in-a generational type opportunity. I am really enthused by Yo-Yo's play. He'll be okay defensively at third. I hope Big Daddy Eloy puts a couple in center field for me tomorrow.
