The problem with the review here is you're making Carson throw the 3-1 pitch cold when he's ruled safe

It certainly doesn't look good at this point.  It amazes me how many people think that just because you say you are doing a "rebuild" that that automatically will make you a World Series contender in

I don't want a top three pick if it means Rodon, Lopez, Gio and other young guys suck. I'd rather have pick 14 and they look good.

This is on Renteria. Nobody else. Fulmer actually pitched well today then got left to dry this inning.

Well it was a good day for Carson. I think he may be good enough to stay up here, although I doubt he will

Someone should tell Ricky.. "You never go full retard"

Putting your players into a position to succeed should be the #1 goal of a baseball manager. Renteria refuses to do that.

It isn't about today.  It is about saving as many pitchers as you can for the next few days.

Juuuuuust a bit outside.

Seemed pretty obvious Fulmer was losing it, and now he leaves on a negative note instead of what could have easily been a enormously positive for him.

doesnt matter, if he cant throw strikes after 40 pitches he doesnt deserve to be up here. Dude is way over the "feel good" stage of his career, need to see results.

Nate Jones starts off at 95mph, so that is nice.

Ricky will randomly use 3 pitchers to get 3 outs in an inning but will leave Fulmer in to get out of a jam in the 8th when he's thrown almost 50 pitches.

The only reason he was up today was because the pen was melted down over the weekend.

How many relievers do you think are still reliably effective 3 innings into an appearance? I'd love for Carson to be able to go 100 pitches but the Sox moved him to the bullpen presumably because they wanted to focus him on throwing 20 good pitches per day

This would be true if he was starting still. He isn’t.

This Rays pitcher looks like the bearded woman in an old timey freakshow.

Cooper hasn't done a good job teaching these guys how to throw a 92-95mph fastball for a strike

Pitchers need to be taught that? Maybe if they aren't trying to throw everything through a wall they would learn control.

I'm struggling to identify the good job he's done with the staff overall in the last several years.  Does he even use analytics?  But, hey, the comfort of  lifers first, winning second.

Sure seems like they've lowered velocity under him and still haven't learned control. But are way more hittable, so that's nice.

You got that covered and I feel strongly both ways about that

How do you figure?he hasn’t been out of college ball that long

14 strikeouts no walks for White Sox hitters today. By no means should they expect better and make any staff changes. More of the same.

I really think JR KW and RH collective biggest problem is not being able to admit they are ever wrong. It takes a Shiels/Tatis magnitude blunder for any concession of not being more baseball savvy than everyone else.

2 walks and 3 hits in 3 innings isn’t exactly inspiring.  But I don’t think it matters if Fulmer stays on the big league team.  It’s obvious that tank mode is still in full force as the Sox don’t have a good enough offense or pitching to compete.

Anyone who thinks this rebuild is going to work is crazy.

We will be fine, but it is scary to be in year three and none of our key guys have reached anywhere close to their potential yet.

That's the tale of the tape for today, along with dominant Snell pitching performance.
