Jose sure is pounding the ball into the ground so far.  Rolling over constantly on fastballs.

You were ripping everyone for using racial stereotypes yesterday and now are using racial stereotypes.  I believe that makes you a hypocrite pal.

Big inning for Mondesi.

Giolito is brutal at GRF. Hopefully he continues from the 1st and has a great start

No walks!

You jinxed it. Although that was a great slider he missed on. Good take by Soler.

I can't believe Soler laid off that

Me neither.

My bad!  I’ve just been so impressed with his command today I was hoping he could go walkless!

His changeup is sick today.

Especially with Soler who is batting .215, although I didnt see it, watching this one on Gameday.

Nice break and play by Eloy.  Looks like he's getting a little more comfy in LF.

I think it was Shakespeare that said puns were the most base form of humor.

Soo, does every infielder on every team run 40 feet back into the outfield on high pop flies or is it just ours?

Nasty stuff today.

Um, stick with this slider, Gio. Just disgusting.

He looks filthy right now.

Nice to see a smile on Gio's face.

Yeah, he’s definitely got everything going right now.

Does he have "HOF stuff" today?

Meatball and he popped it up, bummer.

Uh, yeah. ?

It's really obvious to see why Gio when he had a consistent 96-97 mph fastball was once the top pitching prospect in the game.

You can see it, but consistency obviously is key.

Early observation on Eloy...he is so tall he’s struggling with low pitches, even those in the low. He’s doing a good job of laying off balls now, but he needs significant improvement on hitting the low pitch.

I wonder if any of the Sox players take Ted Willims advice to not swing off the first at bat, of the first pitch, of a new pitcher.

2nd at bat vs the same pitcher you can swing at the first pitch. I took Teddy advice when I played in a mens wood bat league a few years ago.
