If they have the 3rd catcher, that's a way to get Collins and Zavala at bats at the DH spot.

Perhaps, but even bad catchers like Nicholas who have played in the major leagues want to put themselves in a postion to do it again. He's probably 5th on the depth chart. It's not like every other team is in the same situation.
