Lol...Stroman to Mets

The return felt light. I'm okay with it from the Mets side. Depending on what else they do I suppose.

I think it does a couple things for cheap

1. You just made teams who may be looking into Thor more desperate, by taking out the second best option, and you could probably get back 75-80% of what you gave up for Stroman in the offseason.

2. You could do a lot worse than going into 2020 with DeGrom, Syndergaard, Stroman, Alonso, Nimmo, Conforto, McNeil.

  • On the other hand, our drafts the last 3-4 years have been so bad there is nothing to trade of value outside of the untouchables.  It’s really disappointing when teams are getting good trade value for

The Mets are simultaneously buying and selling.  BVW is a fucking moron and that entire FO is awful.  Things could be worse Sox fans.

I was thinking about that too. If they think they can compete next year, you're subbing out Stroman for Syndergaard which is a downgrade (granted this year Stroman is better and it sure does seem like Syndergaard misses time every year) but you probably get better prospects back than what you gave up for Stroman so you are improving your farm. And they could always sell off pieces next year if they want.

But in my opinion, they should tear it down.

Supposedly the Mets are close to dealing Jason Vargas as well.,

They received a 26 year old catcher who is having a brutal season in AA. I guess it was just a salary dump for the Mets but still...

According to Rosenthal, the Mets are throwing in money too..

What is even the point in that?

This is what I don’t want the Sox doing with Nova

None of their moves make sense.

Nova isn’t worth much but give me a young A ball pitching prospect flier over a 26 year old catcher who can’t hit.

I guess they didn’t cover all of Vargas $. Mets saving about $2M, so that makes a little more sense.

Vargas was a clubhouse issue in NY.

Isn’t he one of the guys that wanted to fight one of the beat reporters?

One was the manager and Vargas was the other yeah.

Anyone still want to laugh at the Mets though after 5 players for Bauer just set the price for starting pitching? Blue Jays are the real losers in all this. Stroman should return more than what they gave up. Just depends on will that will be.
