I did pick up The Bear, and haven't been disappointed. It was kind of Breaking Bad-ish in that it took about a season to get going, but the cast is incredible, and they do such a good job with the characters, their tics, as well as what breaks them. Again LOVE the cast. Great story telling. I am about halfway through season 4 so far. Also huge shoutout for Jeremy Allen White as the lead. He is sooooo good at this role. He did it similarly for stretches of Shameless, (thinking of when Lip went to college and was working directly with the professor) but building a character around that totally worked.

Lip is the character I rooted for in that show. Of course being a Gallagher he was doomed to fail right when he reached the point of success, but damn you just wanted him to leave and be something

That arc is pretty much his vibe in The Bear so far, and it is done spectacularly. We will see how it finishes.

As long as they keep Levy Tran out of The Bear…although most also have mixed feelings about Amanda, too.

(Guess they needed the Taylor Sheridan-esque eye candy for ratings.)

Speaking of Shameless connections, Furious is really well done even if the conclusion of S1 wasn’t exactly hit out of the park.

Just binged this show, that episode is terrifying. While you may not like his political bend it is kind of neat how he ties the real world into his shows. The bit on newspaper was good.

Having watched most of his shows, they do FEEL conservative.

Especially the Michael Bay-ish male camera gaze fixed on Ainsley in Landman.

That said, his comment at least made me think.

Perhaps also because some of his main characters like Stallone, Thornton/Sam Neill and Costner feel like they're pulled directly from the 1950s and 80s...even Zoey Saldana and pretty much everything but the two lesbian Lionesses in that show.

The operators themselves come across like a good 'ol boys recruitment video for Navy Seal Team 6.

Weird, thought it was intriguing when watching that but haven’t thought of it once since it ended.

Just caught up on all 3 seasons of Shrinking. I enjoyed it a lot.

The Bear had a great ending. Well done series. The interactions between the characters were so well done.

Doubt it’s something I’d see in theaters, but the trailer seemed legitimately scary/unsettling.

I think it has a lot of comedy as well, which may turn off some true horror aficionados but not me. I realize going into any horror movie these days, it’s never going to be as good as old classics like The Thing. But yeah, both Barbarian and Weapons were pretty good, so I wouldn’t be worried about any movie Cregger puts out.

IMO some of the best horror is able to walk the line between camp horror and straight up horror, Raimi is and always has been great at that
