Why does it seem like Cease barely uses his curveball anymore?   I thought that was his elite breaking ball in the minors.

I do think Kopech will be good if he doesn't get injured or end up with diminished stuff.

I think cease will at least be a solid 4th starter we just got young pitchers man, young pitchers will struggle, even talented ones, see scubel.

Cease’s xFIP is horrendous... too many  home runs... not enough strikeouts.. his development is dissapointing

Same reason Giolito ditched his for a slider. Can't throw it for a strike.

White Sox pitchers seem to forget their curve balls when Donny C gets into their life.

Great effort by EE that at bat. Jeez

Cooper told him to ditch it for a cutter

I don't. I watch hitters react to Cease's pitches and they're all over them. Lopez part deux.

This is what I'm concerned about. Out of all of the young-ish pitchers the Sox have the only one I'm reasonably confident about being a decent MLB pitcher is Giolito, and he's already 26 so he's not that young anymore and he only has 3 years of control left.

Remember when we were good at this?

This is Cease’s 19th career start, why is he already abandoning a potentially plus offspead pitch?  Him, Lopez, & Giolito were all known for plus curveballs in the minors and when they finally get to the show with us the pitch just disappears.  To me it reeks of some sort of Don Cooper meddling.

Was literally just posting this.  Can’t be a coincidence.

No FB command...

He’s not even close to the zone on some of these.  He’s getting very lucky

look what happens when you locate!  jammed him instead of it going 400 feet.  Good job.

lol moncada like dude you really gonna test my arm?

Even then, he throws hard enough that he theoretically should be missing bats anyway in the zone.  Everything is being scalded. He's not fooling anyone.

The White Sox have WAY too much invested in this rebuild to give a long leash to Cooper and Renteria... Far too many developmental failures on the pitching sideline .. These are high draft picks that are flaming out

So much for a clean inning
