There are some pitchers that throw hard but hitters make a ton of hard contact against their fastballs anyway. Cease is one of them. Lopez is another. Cease and Lopez don't have it. Apparently Scherzer has below average carry but still gets whiffs. Hitters reaction matters more than anything else. They're all over Cease more often than not.
