Benetti signs an extension with ESPN

Glad to hear this.  I like Jason and Steve.

Oh, this is about ESPN signing him to an extension. Well, I'm a lot less pumped about that, but good for him. I like him as both a college basketball and college football announcer. He's just a pro as a play-by-play guy.

For clarity's sake, the extension was with ESPN, not NBC Sports Chicago. Although I'm sure he'll be with the Sox for a long time too

Edited thread title for clarity.

Good for Jason. Hoping Sox/NBCSC sign him to one as well.

While being a sox pbp announcer would be amazing, I really don't know that I could do what Jason does with his year round schedule. This year notwithstanding, I can't imagine he's ever home.

Can he call the game for ESPN today, please?

im selfishly against this, because i feel that eventually he will no longer be the pbp for the white sox.

I think the Sox job was his dream job iirc.... not sure he leaves, or at least I'd hope he doesn't.

I feel like a lot of the guys not named Joe Buck who do national broadcasts have local teams they broadcast for during the season/during the week.
