Stiever looks pretty good. 5 SO through 2 IP.

Also no idea how accurate the gun is in Charlotte, but he's up to 97 with consistent 96s.

Not quite sure what to make of Kelley. He's all over the place. Also, according to the broadcast/announcer he's sitting around 93 MPH, but he's touched 95-96 in some high leverage at bats.

Stiever now with 8 SO through 3.0 IP. Fastball consistently at 96 if you buy the readings.

Kelley done. 1.2 IP 3 H 5 ER 3 BB 1 SO. 49 pitches. 26 of them strikes. Color me unimpressed with what I saw. Perhaps my expectations are too high though.

Sheets bomb.

 

I get it's a small park where the ball jumps but Sheets hit that waaay back.

Also, Marco Hernandez is ripping the ball and he hits lefthanded.  I thought he looked okay in the Spring.  Any chance he gets some utility run later in the year?

That's where Stiever was when he started to make top prospect lists.

Things like that are why Kelley "fell" to the 2nd round. 

Some HS guys back up when forced to start every 5th day, and that was the knock on Kelley.

Good outing but 3 walks is a bit much. 

Stiever has ok stuff but it isn't really plus MLB stuff and if he wants to have a mlb role as a back end starter he needs to keep the walks down.

Yes, both.  He played left in spring and has played rf about half the time in Charlotte so far.
