In terms of wRC+ / OPS+ / oWAR, or whatever metric you prefer....who do you think will be our premier offensive player by season end?

I think it's an interesting question and not a clear cut answer.

I hope Moncada.  If its Moncada, we're goin to be in good shape.  But as of right now, I'd put my money on Yaz.

I can't bet against Abreu.

I can. If he keeps choosing to be Mr. Tough Guy and play while injured, he will not lead the team in OPS. If he takes some games off to properly heal, I think he could be the leader in OPS.

This is the same thing he has done for 7 years.

Do you agree they should sit him more than they have? He's no spring chicken. Let the guy heal for god's sake. He's been really bad in June.

I figured out earlier this week if they put him on the 10-day IL after the first game against the Twins next week, he would only miss 5 games (Sox play 5: 2 against Twins 3 against O's) due to an off day and the All-Star break and he would be back for a 3-game series against the Astros.

Moncada's power outage is concerning

I have always thought that, but it he always seems to figure it out anyway.

Fair question.

He usually hit line drive home runs.

They've now deadened the ball.

He's still doing good outside of homers.

Thank u, next.

I just want to be clear - so you feel as though being on base in 5 out of 9 plate appearances  and having 1 home run in this series is undesirable offensive production, correct?

We’ll it all depends on how you play “Predict Abreu’s Second Half”.   This is a contentious game and not for the faint of heart.

I mean he could OPS over .900 without blinking

His career OPS in the 2nd half is .898.
