cubs are doing a great job in my opinion. They tried to extend a few of these guys ... the guys seemed to love the cubs, nothing is stopping them from talking to rizzo and bryant and baez as their FA markets develop. getting young talent in return ... not bad all around. 

only really bad move looks like Yu darvish deal ... which if i remember right they took on some really young guys. basically i think they took on more, younger, prospects - lottery ticket approach. i bet if they held onto him until the deadline they coulda landed the berrios type return. still not bad.

Wow the Cubs are getting PCA in the Baez deal.  Minus the Kimbrel deal Hoyer is doing a good job this deadline.

Jeff Passan had good article on Cubs earlier this week, talking about the long term plan to trade the 3 stars last week and build up the prospect list.

4-25 with the Mets. 0-5 with 5 k's last game. The guy wanted $200 million. I think the Cubs offered him slightly less than that last year. His ego is going to cost him perhaps $100 million.
