Disagree on pitching.

Mena, Simas, D Martin, J Dominguez, Burke, Noah Owen all noteworthy as starters.

Id also Shoutout to Colby Smelley

Honestly, I don’t know enough about the bulk of those guys to say they are legit prospects vs. org guys.  With the positional list I tried to filter out the latter.

All pitchers are prospects. See Banks, Tanner

Late round picks dominating low level hitters don’t excite me unless there stuff to back it up.  The same applies to 26 & 25 year olds in AA.  I agree pitchers are able to transform in an instant due to velocity increases or repertoire changes, but there are still plenty of guys who are almost certainly org guys.  Tanner Banks doesn’t really change that IMO.

Sounds good then here are my top 5 and you can ignore them

Christian Mena
Kohl Simas - 22 Y.O. with a 18 K/9 ratio
Davis Martin - 25 Y.O. in AA with a 1.89 ERA and 11 Ks/9
BA noted:

Martin commands all four pitches and had an increase in velocity in 2021, which saw him make it all the way to Double-A.

Sean Burke - 22 Y.O. in Hi-A with a 2.89 ERA though still showing command issues
Noah Owen - 21 years old in Single A with a 1.12 ERA

Drafted in the 14th round (425th overall) by the Chicago White Sox in 2021 (signed for $125,000)

Owen teamed with Nick Nastrini to give Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) High one of the best high school pitching duos in Southern California in 2018. He began his college career at San Diego, transferred to UC Santa Barbara for his sophomore season and transferred again to Golden West (Calif.) JC this spring. A 6-foot-4, 200-pound righthander, Owen’s fastball sits at 90 mph and touches 93. His real weapon is curveball, a hammer of a pitch that approaches 3,000 rpms. It’s a potential out-pitch that he can command and spin at will. Owen has decent feel for a changeup and has growing confidence in it. He has enough control to remain a starter, but he will have to prove he’s durable. The 40 innings he pitched this season were his career high.

What an oddly aggressive post
