Oscar Colas Story (Is this true?)

The order of operations for Montgomery should be simple:

  1. Keep him at SS as long as he looks be solid average there
  2. If at some point Anderson agrees to an extension, maybe consider moving him to 3rd (dependent on proximity to the majors)
  3. Don’t move him to the OF unless both SS & 3B are blocked for multiple years, Montgomery is more or less major league ready, and there is a massive hole in the Sox’s OF

Given Colsen probably needs another two years in the minors at minimum, there is zero reason to consider moving him to the OF.

  • well, whatever it is, I'm sure shane riorden will get to the bottom of it, let everyone know that he knows the issue and that it's bad, but not actually let anyone know what it was.

  • How is his hamstring though??

Montgomery is an infielder and is playing his first year of professional ball. There is no need to rush his development as a player. Sox have not done that too many times where it has backfired. Montg

Has he? From Laws report he is still very poor in recognizing breaking pitches. He needs a lot of work in that area.

23.5 year old with an .850 ops in A+ ball? Yeah…I’d say he’s due for a promotion to AA.

There is more to progress than raw numbers. If he is truly having that much difficulty with breaking besides emotional maturity he may benefit from staying where he is.

Well he isn't seeing them enough if his numbers look like they do.

True, at least not good ones.

Which probably makes the case for moving him up as well to keep him challenged.
