MLBTR thinks the Sox would be a decent fit for Merrifield. He could plug in at 2B or RF. He's a RH bat, but, barring his would-have-fit-in-with-the-Sox April, he's been OK, and his salary is affordable.

The anti-vax thing with a potential playoff match up with Toronto is a really bad fit.

Josh Harrison has had a better wRC+ than Merrifield the last 2 seasons. Merrifield just isn't good at the plate anymore. 

Can't see him helping us, he's been on a downward trend for about 4 years now, forget about it.

I'll give him this, he doesn't hit ground balls.

But if we go after underperforming hitters I'd rather have upside power.

Whoa, no idea it had gotten that bad.

Only way I trade for Merrifield is if it's straight up for Leury.

Agreed

Merrifield is not really an upgrade over Harrison at this stage in his career. Royals should have traded him years ago when his value was higher.

Yep that .635 OPS is a great fit with Leury and Harrison.  Sox definitely need more utility players.
