August 15, 20223 yr Saving face for Hahn...hasn't exactly gone as well as last exactly $3 million deal for Rodon. Otoh, for Hahn apologists, Cueto in roughly that same price range one of the one of the positive developments of 2022. Original move definition of bargain bin shopping.
August 15, 20223 yr Velasquez gone after the season. Foster is a bubble guy on the 40 man. Not much to choose from with either of them.

August 15, 20223 yr Vince throws nasty stuff, has some measure of control of it and I think that he has the potential to be coached up. It's in Katz's hands. In other words, I think most of us are more down on the guy than we need to be. Better than Foster and has the tools to improve.

Every team has a lot of up and down righty reliever candidates. Lambert is a bullpen guy now. That is probably where Bilous ends up. Luke Schilling, Lane Ramsey, Caleb Freeman… even the Sox depleted system has some guys who might make it. It’s finding starters that’s hard. Thank God for Davis Martin. Now we need to get one or two others either through development or trade.
August 27, 20223 yr Cueto is a good low cost one year pick up, but will likely return to form if he is able to pitch in 2023. OK to sign as a 6th-7th starter at a similar deal to this year, but to rely as an every fifth day starter on a contending team is ludicrous. ERA / FIP / Starts 2019 5.06 / 5.71 / 4 2020 5.40 / 4.64 / 12 2021 4.08 / 4.05 / 21 2022 2.98 / 4.00 / 18

Vince has had five or six years of mediocrity, he is what he is. He's not going to "suddenly" find it in my opinion. Another waste of money and roster space by the Sox G.M.

Mediocrity ain't bad sometimes, in comparison to just plain awful.

Given the organization's record since the start of the 2007 season you can assume that's exactly what they are doing aspiring to mediocrity. ?
