April 14, 20233 yr Feel for Scholtens...going back down with a bad taste in his mouth after the way that game ended. Blame our 3B. Hopefully he uses it as positive motivation. Then again, he might never see the big leagues again.
April 14, 20233 yr Jesse will retire from baseball and become a long time Doctor in a small Minnesota town....later in life he'll say that he remembers that 1 pitch he threw but he wishes "it would have been nice to get just 1 out for the White Sox"

You can blame the 3B all you want, but the Sox would have still been in a whole lot of trouble if he made the play. Runner on 3rd, 1 out, and a pitcher who doesn't strike people out much on the bump. The bad throw just helped up get to the inevitable quicker. Edited April 14, 20233 yr by Dick Allen

Well it would have been a Sox loss 85-90% of the time in that scenario/on the road. Alberto just expedited it... may be saved the bullpen for another day later in the season. Cliff Floyd had the White Sox among his "no-trade" clause teams in his contract. Which was shocking given that he grew up on the South Side and said his favorite player was Harold Baines.
