I'm really wondering if there is any self scouting within this organization.  Why hasn't Victor Reyes gotten a look, why did Remillard not get a look for last couple of years.  Why was Piscotty never given a look.  None of these guys are the answer but this whole organization is founded on lighting in a bottle.

Don't wonder, it's not there. Player evaluations are horrible in both the scouting to even drafting quality prospects. Then once they are in our farm system, they often times incorrectly evaluate which ones are good or bad. Then if they do determine they are potentially very good, our player development coaches are inept and will slow or ruin their progress.

As we've said ad nauseum, until we get a younger modern day Pres/GM, from outside the Sox org that knows how to evaluate talent and get it successfully developed...this will never change.

The Remillard thing is bizarre considering they have frequently spent $2-$3 mill on utility players (and of course the Leury contract). I think it's like relievers - they don't break the bank and they prefer "proven veterans."  It fails, but they don't recognize their failures as a failure in process.

Why was TA in the leadoff spot today? I thought we learned from that experiment already?

Apparently Grifol figured since TA has been hot lately, even though it was strictly from the #2 spot, it would be better to put TA back at the leadoff spot. Then even more brilliant, Grifol decided to move Benintendi to 5th, even though he has done a great job leading off.

I guess Grifol felt since it's not broken at 1 & 2 in the order, he would change things up from the old adage...and assume it was broken and it needed to be fixed.

The egos of the FO will never admit their mistakes because they don't have to be critical of themselves. Plus the FO is inept and really bad at any proper evaluations. They can live in constant excuses and rationalizations for their mistakes, because their boss JR will never criticize or fire them. What a gig if you can get it.

We have one position player that is on pace for more than 2 WAR and that is Robert, who will probably finish around top 5 in the AL at 5.5-6.5. Jake might be able to squeek over 2 if he can stay healthy and keep his wRC+ around 120.

Our biggest signing ever, Benitendi, is on pace for 1.3 fWAR.

The rest of our "core" like TA, Moncada and Eloy aren't even worth mentioning really. They all, for various reasons, are barely even 1 WAR players anymore. Just a really shocking turn of events for guys that looked like "can't miss" players just a few years ago.

when your GM throws in the towel, even Pedro should figure out it's time to launch Elvis. God

he's dumb.

Of course Grifol is dumb. He spent all his coaching years for the loser KC organization. Then the KC GM knew he was dumb and bypassed him to hire his next manager an outside bench coach from the Rays.

Btw, the GM who threw in the towel is even dumber! LOL!

There must be a part of the job application when becoming the Sox manager that reads "will you pitch to Jose Ramirez?" Hahn and KW are standing over your shoulder and as soon as you check the "yes" box, they take the application and immediately hire you. Why even fill out the rest?

What kind of dumb fucking organization is this?

As we travel to our next opponent the Rangers, here some things to note:

Sox are 43-64  - 21 games under 500 (.402) Home 23-29 AWAY 20-35

55 games remaining - 26 away - 29 home

With all the new players coming up and all the old players being traded...let's be realistic, 100 losses is still probable.

The Sox only need to finish 19-36 (.345). Keep in mind since the second half, the Sox are 5-10 (.250)

Giving those big money extensions so the Sox could avoid having to pay arbitration figures for a year or two really blew up in their face when those guys decided they didn't have to work so hard anymore.

Very dumb. It was obvious Tito decided to not let Burger beat us after he continued his HR streak so they pitched around him the last two games.  Smart Manager vs. Sox Managers is no contest.
