Damaged goods.  Excellent trade by Getz.

I still can’t believe the Mariners paid for this guy, but yes credit to Getz for taking advantage of them.

Five years of control…little premature to draw any conclusions from Seattle’s side of things.  But so far, looks a solid move by Getz given where things stand at the moment.

  • 69th pick? Nice.

  • The Giants signed Matt Chapman and will forfeit their 2nd rounder. That means the White Sox comp pick moves up to #68.

  • The actual greatest thing that could happen would be for the Mariners to flip Santos to St. Louis, so Kenyan Middleton could watch him sleep in the bullpen every game.

Lat is a whole other problem, right?  IIRC it was elbow problems before, no?

Yes last year was elbow, it was one of those “is he going to need TJS when he ramps back up” ones.

But a guy who has soreness of these sorts already, does that mess with his other muscles or mechanics when he is ramping up? Injuries cascading like that is a thing.

If he is already hurt he shouldn't be throwing,  but sure.
