Feel like you rarely hear people talk about this as a reason for players to resist coaching.

That's what happens when 44% of your teammates are traded away.

More focus on one's personal stats and future.

Sure it will go over well with Twins' fans.

Twins getting the next Field of Dreams game against Phils...likely Aug 2027.

Surprised it's not the Brewers, though...or Twins vs. Brewers would be a bit better at least because of the regional rivalry.

Twins likely to be also rans at that point in the season.

Phillies might need to do a retooling without Wheeler as key pieces are aging out.

Tigers’ front office shaken by sexual misconduct/harassment allegations…extending all the way to broadcasters/former players Maybin and Craig Monroe.

already had to fire Rod Allen and Mario Impemba for fighting each other in the last decade as well

The Twins eliminated their entire four-person pro scouting staff, multiple league sources confirmed on Tuesday night.

Though the terminations were telegraphed by how the scouts operated in previous years, staff members learned early Tuesday their positions would not be renewed. The department’s elimination is part of cost-cutting measures by ownership, one league source said.

Longtime pro scout Ken Compton, who was in his 39th season as a scout and 15th with the club, along with fellow pro scout John Manuel, formerly the editor in chief of Baseball America, were among those informed their positions had been eliminated.

Fellow pro scouts Keith Stohr and Jose Marzan, a former Twins farmhand who’d spent 30-plus years in the organization in a variety of coaching and scouting roles, also were let go.

To be fair, I read the article by Dan Hayes, though I don't have a link to share.

The Twins had a 5 man team for advanced scouting and kept 1 of the 5. It was also stated that this is becoming more common place in MLB as teams are using video scouting more and more.

Not saying it's good, bad, or otherwise. Just saying the Twins aren't the only teams cutting back in this particular department (Cubs basically did the same thing last offseason).

Lienert was reportedly involved in a heated exchange with one of those women in 2023 and is accused of pushing the woman down a flight of stairs, three sources told The Athletic. Lienert was suspended by the team, resigned and currently works for the Chicago Fire.

Imagine hiring this guy...

Even the USC QB is embarrassed for the Fire.  Matt Leinart, btw.

oh, that's good I guess. But how do you not know that? You hire an executive who was suspended and then resigned from his last job, and don't bother to call his former employer?

More like "oh s%*# we were hoping nobody would find out".

Cleveland is only 3.5 back of Detroit. They probably won't win the division since there's 9 games left, but I did not expect them to get this close.

Go look at the remaining schedules.

I'd love to see Cleveland bump Boston then Detroit and then have Detroit face NY in the wildcard.

On the way to being 2.5 games. This is getting very interesting.

DET looks bad on both sides of the ball and Cleveland is just a professional organization. They're never out of it. DET loses 10-1 against a team that is 12 games below .500 and CLE wins again (against the worst team in the league).

Thinking about their respective series vs the Sox. Outside of likely Cy Young winner Skubal, DET looked like they didn't prepare at all for the series. Their pitching got rocked. Meanwhile, the Guardians actually attacked the Sox players' weaknesses as though they had done some advance scouting and were able to sweep a bad team despite some good pitching on our end. It would so wild if Detroit is the team to fall out of the playoffs.

Looking like it might be just a one game lead if CLE can sweep DH against Minnesota...

5 consecutive losses by Tigers.

Boos raining down in Detroit.

Benetti lucky to be doing NCAAF instead.

Braves on a run of their of their own...albeit way too late.

Cleveland just 1.5 back now from Detroit! A very impressive turnaround. 1 back from Boston and Houston who play later.

I'd think Houston is the favorite vs Seattle since they're at home and Framber is on the mound (he's lights out at home). I think the Rays have the pitching advantage vs Boston. Kyle Harrison is getting his second start as a Red Sox and Houser is kind of a wild card to me.

This has to be the most interesting WC race since the expansion.
