He didn't say that...DeLoach OR Colas platoon with Pham and Fletcher is the primary CF.

Fine, he should honestly never play any OF position...period.

See his defensive numbers for mostly LF play.

He's worse than Pollock and arguably worse than Vaughn/Sheets.

He's strictly a DH at this point in his career.

He made me pine for Jurickson Profar in LF.

What argument is there for keeping him up?  I may have been drunk when I created this thread, but the point holds true sober.  This kid is broken and some minor league development can’t hurt (even if

  • can we just relegate the entire team? does that exist in this sport?

The Sox completely ruined Vaughn from the jump plus Covid didn't help. Him basically getting no development in the minors plus us making him learn a completely different position for a year+. Also now he is on a shitty team that won't compete, I can't imagine how tough it is to come to work every day and play with this shitty team and keep the motivation going.

I am all for sending AV to AAA.  But he did hit the ball hard 2x yesterday.   .570 xBA on that bases loaded line out to Kirilloff. Baby steps.

The excuses you make for Vaughn fall on deaf ears. He needs to hit like every other player.

A hard-luck loser is still a loser.

I really don't think its a motivation issue for AV.  He might look like he doesn't care, but I think that is just him. He has to know that if he doesn't pick it up, he's a non tender candidate and looking at a cheap 1 year deal, or maybe even milb if he really keeps sucking.  I am sure its eating him up inside.

I really think a month or so in Charlotte makes a ton of sense for AV.  From a roster construction standpoint, Pham can replace AV. Sheets plays 1B.  AV can play 1B daily in AAA - its currently being played by a catcher. It also will give the Sox another year of control of AV, which gives them more flexibility with him moving forward.  But being arb eligible already, he's making $3.25M this year - so he's going to have to show some life for that extra year to even matter.
