If the Sox ever get everybody off the IL at the same time

Featured Replies

Guys currently on the 40-man (excluding 60-day IL) least awful lineup you can throw out there:

Grossman 9/7

Moncada 5

Robert 8

Sheets 3/Jimenez DH

Jimenez DH/Vaughn 3

Benintendi 7/Pham 9

DeJong 6

Lee/Maldonado 2

Lopez/Mendick 4

SP: Crochet, Fedde, Soroka, Clevinger, Keller

Swing: Flexen

CL: Wilson

SU: Kopech, Brebbia

MR: Leasure, Banks

Situational Lefty: Shuster

If you absolutely have to: Leone

DFA: Hill

DFA once Montgomery is ready: Lopez

I honestly can't recall over the last several years, not just this one and not just last year, where the Sox have had everyone healthy.

Simply not happening with this bunch of players and this staff.

When Norm was taking care of business the Sox were one of the healthier teams in MLB.

The curse of Brian Ball ?

If I hit the powerball I can put together a pretty good retirement.

It doesn’t happen with any team, though.

We’re just used to the same few injury prone “core” guys getting hurt and the FO having no backup plan.

I admit I watched yesterday and only getting shutout once in 9 games is like watching the 27 Yankees by comparison to the first month…

But still so insane to me we are watching this hundred loss season and instead of surfing the waiver wires and giving some long shots a chance we have a bunch of mid 30s vets playing

To put that in figures, Jimenez, Robert and Moncada have played together in 161 of 558 games since Robert's debut in 2020. And they were supposed to be the core of the championship winning team. It's not just the missed games but also the fact that they are constantly having to regain form coming off injuries.

I thought this was bumped up from 2019, or 2020, or 2021, or 2022, or 2023

When they’re healthy they aren’t all that great, basically a bunch of losers, managed by a loser on a team that is owned by the biggest loser of them all.
