May 24, 20241 yr I'm convinced Maldonado's main role is for PR purposes. By taking playing time away from Lee, he's making the fanbase fall more in love with Lee. That way, when Lee is finally the starter, he's got the full fanbase behind him. That's all I can think of, anyways.
