It's actually a good strategy for picking up youngerish players or rehab guys who may still have some upside.Its better than getting stuck paying $10-20M for multiple years to middle level Free agents whose best years always seem to be behind them.

This is 100% what they should be doing. It is something that Hahn didn't do enough of.
