They would lose in arb then.  He pretty much to be non tendered,  because then they can negotiate a lot more.

Just looked at the box score before I fall asleep…Gus Varland will be one hell of a trivia answer in a few years. Have 100% never heard of him and if someone asked me who Gus Varland is in about six months, I wouldn’t be able to answer 😂

It doesn’t happen very often but it can.  But even if Lopez would accept 20% less than his salary this year for next year, I wouldn’t even offer him that.  🤣

Good defense and game is in extra innings. Little things matter and the Sox are still sucky at defense (and hitting and out of the pen).
