November 11, 20241 yr The last I heard was back in early September, when we were told that his injury was a bone spur on his elbow. The plan was to shave down the bone spur and that would clear up the problem. Again, that is the last I heard of it. Has anyone heard anything since? Was the surgery successful? Is he throwing or due to begin throwing? Anything?
November 11, 20241 yr Knowing the Sox penchant for communications, we will find out something when pitchers and catchers report in February.
November 11, 20241 yr The last article I can find is about how Thorpe was set to have surgery on September 7th. https://www.mlb.com/news/drew-thorpe-to-undergo-season-ending-surgery

Better get an image and have surgery. The Sox were involved in the first chapter: Zack Wheeler getting more money because he pitched less. That was the beginning of the end. Unless the league office makes some drastic changes to service time and roster rules, the next generation of MLB pitchers will be nameless, faceless, supporting characters who go once through the lineup every 3rd day.
