caulfield12
Grifol was honestly the worst manager to promote the organization too...can't imagine one person in North America with his Sox jersey unless they were family members. Comparatively, Joe Maddon used to outsell every member of the Sox around 2014-2016 except Jose Abreu.

He’s one of the best talents we’ve ever had and a great person. Vinny Duber’s as good of a writer as you’ll find on a beat. But sometimes you feel like you care more about the White Sox than the White Sox care about the White Sox. So that makes it tough.” https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports-media/2024/12/18/chgo-sports-chicago-greg-boysen-vinnie-duber-ryan-herrera-herb-lawrence-nicholas-moreano-brandon-spano-all-city-network I'm going to miss all those guys. The Sox ,Bears, and Hawks CHGO podcasts were the only ones I regularly watched so I'm familiar with all those guys and liked them all. Sox players like Duber too. Boysrn did a good job on the Hawks as did Moreano on the Bears. Herb Lawrence was likeable as well. I'm not even sure the lone survivor of CHGO White Sox will be doing it alone or just doing shorts rather than a whole show every other day or so. James Fegan who felt the axe with the Athletic too had respect for Duber.

If people weren’t watching this before, no one is watching it now. It went from a round table to a one man show. Yikes… I clicked the live stream. It had 109 people watching. I really don’t know how this company is even in business at all.
Texsox
Earning a living in journalism is getting more and more difficult. Soon it will be all AI and volunteer generated. It's like Walmart, hire a bunch of cheap pay time freelancers to create content. If everyone is racing to the bottom it won't matter. As far as the timing I'm wondering if they have over 100 employees and the WARN act needs to be followed. It's a tough call, some folks would rather know immediately to avoid unnecessary expenses. Imagine buying a bunch of gifts, taking a trip, then getting back to find out you're being fired. That's not cool either.

They had 4 regular guys plus 3 ex players and one current player all making regular appearances. Then the Bears got bad .

My guess is he is the "fill-in" stringer for the regularly assigned beat writer. Unlike in the old days when the beat writer covered every single game from April through September. Jake
I kind of assumed the Sun-Times was going to mostly get out of the covering-the-Sox business. If they decided to bring in a new beat writer, that's good news.
