Dude, every single pitcher on the Dodgers is practically injured at all times. Injuries happen.

Dude, Dunning, Rodon and Martin say "hello!" Recent other screw up's by the Sox "crack" medical, training and conditioning staffs. 😆

That’s why they acquire 10 starters.  The Sox can’t afford to do that unfortunately.

Like SS2K5 mentioned, the running theme with this organization appears to be — if you don’t hear anything about a pitcher’s status, it’s probably bad news.

Pitching injuries happen. I would need to see data that proves the Sox are any worse than the rest of the league. The Dodgers need 10+ starters, because half of them are always on the IL. Maybe this is your way of telling us the Sox are getting closer to the world series.

I actually had a laugh from this. Well played.

It's not that injuries happen, it is just that it seems to be a trend where the Sox either announce that someone who has been hurt is progressing and then weeks, sometimes months after the fact (like with the pitchers I named) something has gone wrong or in Rodon's case if I remember right it turned out to be a different injury. The Sox announce "so and so is being held out and slowly worked back in spring training..." We don't see or hear anything and then...SUDDENLY, "oh he has to have surgery..."

Incompetence across the board.

You can go back to "Shouldergate" where Kenny had to defend his medical staff in a press conference after the Sirotka controversy in 2001.

The White Sox usual pitcher injury timeline…

He’s fine and anticipated to be ready for the start of Spring Training…

He had a setback and may be held back for the start of Spring Training…

He is still having discomfort after a cortisone shot…

He needs TJ surgery…

He had surgery to shave down a bone spur in his right elbow.

"Supposedly" he was 'good' to go and was ramping up his off season work.

Clown organization from top to bottom in all areas. 🤡

Bone spurs on his elbow. They were scraped, and he was supposed to be ready for spring training.

Would this have been exploratory enough where if there was damage to his UCL it would have been obvious? (This one I don’t have a clue).

As far as I could tell, Rodon was never in good enough shape and was overworked in college. That plus whatever his throwing program was led to multiple years of shoulder injuries.

Then, he came back in early 2019 throwing in the low 90s but throwing mostly his slider. Whether it was still his shoulder or something else, it seems clear that this led to mechanical issues.

His elbow then snapped.

In 2020, they rushed him back because of reasons. He was just terrible.

In 2021, he worked with Katz, got his mechanics in order, and got himself in actual good shape in the offseason. That was, aside from the fact that they burned him out in the first half, his best work.

Rodon even admitted he never took his off-season conditioning programs seriously.

I'm sure that was part of it, and I'm sure that the White Sox rushing him upwards in 2015 to save their competitive rotation was not helpful either. Back in 2014, everyone knew he was good, but we also saw that the South Carolina coach was having him put everything out that he could. IIRC he had several >>100 pitch outings in the minors. They needed to be way easier on his arm and work with him on good habits, but that could sabotage Hahn's competitive 2015 roster.

Technically, you were only off by a week, Nostradamus.

Played with Trea Turner actually...yet didn't go that far in NCAA postseason

“Setbacks always bring some level of concern, but our medical and pitching group are confident this will only be a minor setback and he will be ready to go in April. We are just being cautious, knowing this will be his first full season at the Major League level.” --Chris Getz.

We'll see how this turns out.

Cortisone shot level pain in the ramp up is not too promising of a start to this season.

Not likely, the osteophytes would have been removed through arthroscopy going straight into the joint. They wouldn't see outside the joint.

Unless the osteophytes were really big and they needed to do an open procedure. This is unlikely but they would see the UCL in this case.

I wonder if they are putting him on the same program they used with Crochet since he is coming off surgery. This would explain a longer rehab process.

Nope.
