Hahahahahaha. It's funny that the only guy who ranked the Sox' farm system the lowest, Keith Law, is the guy who has said that Chris Getz is doing a good job with the organization.

We're pretending that IF ONLY REINSDORF SENT UNLIMITED MONEY TO MINNESOTA.... KEASAHULL WOULD BE OURS!!!!! AND THEN ALL THE HOME RUNZZZZ WOULD HAPPENNNNN!!!!!!111

Seriously, we're talking about rumors of partial rumors. It's the latest insider meme: "WOW, ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS TAKE ON MONEY, AND WE GET THEIR TOP 5 PROSPECTS!!!!!!"

I guess I'm at a loss. I don't have any children. And everybody seems to be letting their 5-year-olds post about trade possibilities, when a grown adult would understand that 99% of what's being discussed is nonsense.

Unlimited money?  All of the Twins’ 5 top prospects?

Once again, your hyperbole knows no bounds.

Even had the White Sox agreed to pick up the full amount of Fedde’s remaining contract for the rest of 2024 and all of 2025 at the trade deadline, it would have cost the Sox $10 million.  And it’s doubtful that the Twins were asking the Sox to pick up the full amount of Fedde’s remaining contract, considering Fedde’s value based on both his performance and cheap contract.

Once again, the rumored trade mentioned one guy — Luke Keaschall — not all five of the Twins’ top 5 prospects.  At the time Getz stupidly traded Fedde for Vargas instead, Keaschall was the Twins #5 prospect.  He is now their #3 prospect and ranked the #61 prospect in MLB’s top 100.

I have no idea why you continue to act like this rumored trade is completely ridiculous considering it was reported by a Twins beat reporter.  It’s not like Keaschall was one of the Twins’ top 3 prospects at the time and considered untouchable.

You are clowning this rumored trade offer and claiming it is baseless because you don’t want it to be true, in your never-ending super-human efforts to defend and excuse Getz’s actions.

It's a partial rumor of talks. You've even admitted that Hayes didn't have all the information. You act like it was a done deal. I'm not sure what you're quoting. My f*cking with Caulfield?

Any trade that doesn’t happen is obviously never a “done deal” but why do you refuse to believe that there is any truth to this specific trade offer when a Twins beat reporter reported it and there were also other media reports saying that the Sox refused to deal Fedde within their own division?

Do you also believe there is no truth to the Phillies offering Alec Bohm and Justin Crawford for Crochet, or is that a “real” trade rumor because the Sox got back more from the Red Sox?

I am guessing if the rumored Twins offer for Fedde was far worse of a return than Vargas, you would be using it as a defense of the Vargas trade.

Bohm would be better than Gavin Lux but not by much since most of our infield prospects profile best at 3B and then 2B...

If Getz was ever stupid enough to be interested in 2 years of Lux in any deals involving Fedde or Crochet, the Sox have no hope.  Of course, hilariously, Lux may have been a better return for Fedde than Vargas.  That’s how bad it looks like Getz blew that trade.

As a rumor, I'm sure it's "real". You've already admitted that Hayes didn't have all the information, so his reporting you repeatedly beat everyone over the head with wasn't the whole story. You have no idea if they talked to the Twins for months, or the Twins' GM texted Getz an idea as he was faxing a finished Vargas deal into the league office. And the only reason you kept flogging half a rumor was in service of your full time job, s%*#-posting against Chris Getz.

Yeah, I don't think Bohm is an option as anything but a change of scenery candidate.

Where’s the hyperbole?  Unless you are positive that Vargas is a better player than what he has been for his entire career thus far, Lux has at least been with 3.0 bWAR in a 162 game average for a total of 7.6 bWAR in his career.

Meanwhile, Vargas was worth -0.8 bWAR last season and is at -1.3 bWAR in his career.

Five more years of control over a garbage player isn’t worth more than two years of an above average one.

Harold likes this post.

You better pull at that same math for when we acquire Kelenic haha.

I am not a huge fan of Lux like Harold.  While he is a pretty good player, the two years of control don’t make any sense for the Sox.  But it might take Vargas a 15-year ironman career to accumulate 7.6 bWAR like Lux.

I saw someone say they put a FV of 45 on him for now, and he was in the next 15 after the 100.

He hasn’t played yet and is coming off an injury, so I totally get having some pessimism.  Awesome seeing Taylor and to a lesser extent Quero in there.  Still a bit bitter Baseball America left Edgar off their Top 100 list after the year he had.

Is it even pessimism though?  It’s easier to justify a ranking for a load of guys that have at least tasted the minors and had success already.  If B. Montgomery has some success this year, he could probably jump like 50 spots on their next list or something ridiculous like that.

That’s exactly what I am getting at.  I just meant them being pessimistic vs. some of the other publications, but I can understand the rationale.
