CNBC lists Ishbias as co-owners of Sox with 2025 purchase date

Wow, so Jerry's clan is actually the majority owner.  That's a big update from 20%.

So there's basically going to be a war of attrition to "starve" the White Sox to death on payroll and stadium funding until they have no alternative but to capitulate to the Ishbias...

This stupid fucker better give us a hell of a stadium if he isn't going to give up anything and just get more stingy year after year with the roster.

That’s a bit scary.  Need to pray that Michael Reinsdorf loses those shares somehow.

Here's the thing.  Almost all of this dudes net worth is his franchises.  His net worth is listed at $2.3b which is obviously way low with him owning almost all of the Bulls and half of the Sox, but I don't think the dude can write a check for a billion dollars.

After missing the NBA playoffs and play-in tournament with the largest payroll in league history, the Phoenix Suns have fired head coach Mike Budenholzer, the team announced Monday.

"Competing at the highest level remains our goal, and we failed to meet expectations this season. Our fans deserve better. Change is needed," the team said in a statement.

For the third consecutive offseason, Suns owner Mat Ishbia, CEO Josh Bartelstein and general manager James Jones are changing coaches. Phoenix finished 36-46.

Budenholzer had issues connecting with the locker room this season, with team officials concluding that the roster failed to respond to the 2021 NBA championship coach, sources said. Budenholzer's inability to coexist with his players centered around the franchise's cornerstone, Devin Booker, and went down the roster, those sources said.

The Suns will now hold a wide-ranging coaching search, sources said.       source:  espn.com

Can you imagine JR eating $40 million and 4 years on a manager's contract?   Preposterous.

Ofc, constantly churning through new managers isn't exactly a brilliant strategy when it's almost always about the players in the NBA.

I don't think those numbers are accurate but it doesn't matter.  He's not selling.

Feb 25, 2025He recently told Crain's Chicago Business he owns more than 19 percent of the team, but he's kept his true stake a mystery for decades. “No ...

So the Ishbia's were ONLY successful buying up 16% of the remaining shares from minority shareholders and the Reinsdorf kids somehow were able to buy up 25-30%?????
Why why why why why?

And it wouldn't matter even if the Ishbia's could get the remaining eight minority partners (for 15%) to move to 50% overall because the Reinsdorfs would still retain the control shares.

They bought up their shares a few years ago.
