Assuming that the continued presence of Slater et al on the roster is to  be traded in July, he should be up soon. Sox are in no position to give away players who might help.

Feels like they saw enough with Julks Fletcher and DeLoach last season...they really need outfielders with multiple tools.

Baldwin in LF. No Julks. Wonder if he is getting a compassionate release to play in mlb. He has done all he can in AAA this year.

Sox should call him up for Taylor.

Love to see Clevinger with the high ERA in the minors.

The only issue with all that is playing Sosa at 1B DH where he doesn't profile well, but maybe not the end of  the world.

And whether they're willing to bench Rojas...who they never needed in the first place, except for their assumption Vargas wouldn't make it.

Psychologically...can Colson separate his defense from his offense if he's struggling on that side at SS and getting more scrutiny at the big league level?  Just wonder...at any rate, don't think that Colson will go anywhere until June/July.

My guess is August after the trade deadline. Let him settle in  for a few months with the things him and Fuller worked on. It might not always be smooth sailing .

I could be wrong with Getz wanting LH pop but I'd rather make sure he's 100 % ready .

Getz needs to find more pitching .All the injuries are already taking a toll on organizational depth and May isn't over yet. Long long way to go.

It's not helping the rest of the staff though if they are pitching position players .

I dont think we need to see two straight months of very good performance. I think a couple more weeks and bring him up. Give him a shot to prove he can stick at SS.

Maybe bring Teel up in a couple weeks as well if his work behind the plate looks good.

Braden should be getting promoted to AA pretty soon as well.

There's no hurry though. He didn't do well all of last year and so bad this year that his star had dimmed quite a bit.

He and everyone else has to be sure it's not just a hot streak.

He could convince all the doubters by continuing on a run for all of June.  Maybe then if there's an injury or an early trade sure.

I would think if he's still in the minors through July that's even more time to see if he can maintain the good hitting. There should definitely be space for him on the Sox 26 by then. No need to force things. Let it play out.

I don’t have much hesitation about bringing anybody up, but especially guys who are already on the 40 man. If Colson comes up too soon, who’s he taking at bats from? Rojas? Capra? Those guys can’t hit anyway and aren’t part of the future. You already got the extra year of control and kept him from being a Super Two. If they leave him down for a while, sure. Great. But if they bring him up, what’s the worst that can happen? They send him back down. Bringing Teel up requires a 40 man spot, and probably a trade of either Thaiss or Lee. Still not really against it, but the stakes are higher slightly.

Without making a big deal out of it there's 2 reasons to give veterans 1 year deals when you're bad.

1. Your youngsters aren't ready.

2. Trade them.

Don't know who will end up traded or unceremoniously dumped but Colson 's setback was major. The highs and lows have to be less dramatic. You're looking for consistency and a major part of consistency is time. He could have an 0 for 15 slump in a week you'd like to see him bounce back from strongly. He needs the confidence that comes from longer stretches of excellence than a month.

A lot of the vets Getz hoped to trade have been injured. Now they're not. A few extra arms at the TDL won't hurt the organization devastated by all the pitching injuries. And Colson showing some consistency of excellence won't hurt either.
