Old friend Codi Heuer strikes out Elko and Teel with the bases juiced. Teel really expanded his zone early in the count, then took a fastball right down the middle. Heuer still has better stuff than the entire Sox bullpen. Have no idea why he’s not in mlb.

I missed his last inning, but as I mentioned earlier he was barely using his slider at all. Maybe he broke it out that last inning.

These last few days have been fun. 

I am dreaming of Colson replacing Rojas in the line up in about a month.

Fuller is a wizard confirmed.

1-2-3 inning with 2K's for Pallette in save #8. Barons win 2-0.

10 straight scoreless appearances for Pallette, 7/7 on saves in that time. 0.75 WHIP in May.

The Dash walkoff rally also featured another big double from Zavala. May OPS approaching .850.

Kanny also rallied late to win, Jack Young got save #3 after they took the lead with 2 outs bottom 8.

RHP Young (23yo, 2024 9th rounder) should be due for a promotion soon. Tiny tiny 0.42 ERA in 21.2IP (15 appearances). WHIP just over 1, and just under 9 K/9. Has not allowed an XBH.

Pretty good outing by Luis Reyes as well. All around great night for the org. 

That might be Colson's best night at the plate of his whole career!

Damn...Fuller is awesome.

If Colson keeps it up for a couple more weeks, call him up and let him play at SS and 3B.

And where are you going to play him?

1B?  DH is a bad idea at that age.

Shortstop.....put them where they should be. Chase at 2nd, Vargas at 3rd, Colson at SS and rotate the 1b/dh slots.

The only issue with all that is playing Sosa at 1B DH where he doesn't profile well, but maybe not the end of  the world.

And whether they're willing to bench Rojas...who they never needed in the first place, except for their assumption Vargas wouldn't make it.

 

Psychologically...can Colson separate his defense from his offense if he's struggling on that side at SS and getting more scrutiny at the big league level?  Just wonder...at any rate, don't think that Colson will go anywhere until June/July.

I dont think we need to see two straight months of very good performance. I think a couple more weeks and bring him up. Give him a shot to prove he can stick at SS. 

Maybe bring Teel up in a couple weeks as well if his work behind the plate looks good.

Braden should be getting promoted to AA pretty soon as well.

Somewhere around 4-5 weeks might be the right compromise.

Now we're just 7-10 days into this.

 

And they still have to resolve the Thaiss Lee Quero logjam...or dump one of the outfielders, Capra or Rojas.

Honestly, Venable seems to love Palacios.

SS. Or possibly 3b. He’s not a bad fielder on the left side by any stretch of the imagination.

Assuming that the continued presence of Slater et al on the roster is to  be traded in July, he should be up soon. Sox are in no position to give away players who might help.
