Obviously Getz. What does that have to do with Venable?

None of us know if that’s all Venable or if he’s receiving direction from Getz. And if it is Venable, Getz has done nothing to override those decisions. Thats all to say that I’m willing to give Venable some benefit of the doubt, but Getz not so much.

With an injured Sosa, your choice is between Josh Rojas or Capra. It looks like they're getting Meidroth smooth at 2B in advance of a possible C. Monty callup. I would guess that Fletcher is still only a better fielding Palacios at this point. Many screamed that Elko should be the starting 1B in the bigs, so I blame them for him. It is easier to judge when said players regularly end up in key line up positions right before they are yeeted from the roster.

Elko is AAAA filler, and many said that when people were screaming for Elko to be promoted during a hot streak in a AAA bandbox. He strikes out too much, and he's really being exposed the more he plays. Yea, he's good defensively, can run the bases competently and is a great story. The odd HR helps, too. But Miguel Vargas is the 1B of the future. Lenyn Sosa and then Colson Montgomery are going to squeeze Elko out in the next month. Bryan Ramos will be out of minor league options after 2025, and since he will have to be rostered on the big league squad all of next year, they should probably get a pretty good look at him at 3B, 2B or the OF this summer. I felt he should get a shot, too. Elko/Colas as a 1B platoon felt better than Vaughn out of the gate. His Charlotte fireworks were cool and certainly warranted a look after the TDL. But he's dying right now, and it's not for lack of playing time. Elko was just sent down again. I'm not surprised but still they haven't given him a fair shot. If I was him i would ask to be traded. He obviously doesn't fit into the plans of the team.

Elko may never be anything due to his propensity for strikeouts but what good does playing a 29-year old career minor league 1B like Noda do for a rebuilding team? He looks like a fish out of water against big league pitchers. Yes, Elko should be asking for a trade. A trade to Zack Collins' Real Estate office.
