Beckham made a good point. Enough of this one day in the lineup one out for Teel and Quero. They're never gonna get red hot if you keep interrupting their rhythm. Their lineup is better when they're b

You can't win with a 9th batter and leadoff hitter hitting 11 for 102

Slater, Rojas, Capra and all of the other vets that were brought in that are now gone have just been fucking terrible. Tauchman is the only one doing literally anything.

No Beckham, they knew Luis Robert would kill any kind of a rally as he promptly GIDP.

You have a guy who struck out 4 times last night leading off, probably never led off in his life. (He did single for the only Sox hit).  I’m not sure what Venable is trying to accomplish with these goofy lineups,

Get him an extra look at the top of the lineup? If they can get him hitting at all, he's a power threat.

Good recovery from Civale, all things considered.

Quero better find a way to elevate the ball, especially against RHP.  He’s hitting the ball on the ground more than Eloy ever did.

This is the least shocking thing of this season.

I at least thought Slater would give you a little more.

He showed some power in the minors but now is just a singles and doubles guy, that’s OK but he then needs to hit .300 to help.

Might want to stop throwing the first pitch over the plate

I guess he forget he is pitching for the Sox and not to them

Civale fucking trash

I agree, bring the kids up instead of watching vets at the end of their careers.  You can keep Slater and Taylor just for 4th and 5th outfielders and insurance for injuries but I don’t want to see these guys starting anymore, they have a good game once in awhile but never were great in their careers, they’re low or mid 600 OPS guys.

Austin Slater came into this game with a 117 OPS+. Capra shouldn't even be put in a position to hit.

He will be traded for some 25 year old A ball prospect we will never hear from again.

Yeah, he has been the 2nd most successful and wouldn't look as bad if Rojas/Capra/the rest weren't bringing the whole idea down.

It’s really amazing how low our standards have become the last few years.  Looking at the fWAR numbers for the first time in weeks was depressing today.

That wasn't even close, chief.

C’MON UMP

The Capra experience has got to end. Predictably, he’s about as bad as humanly possible for a major leaguer.

Some absolutely baffling calls behind the plate today

Kirk is best framer in baseball.  Quero one of the worst.

This Palisch guy hasn’t fooled anyone.

Good luck remembering Palisch name for sporcle

In a perfect world there wouldn’t be such a thing as framing with umpires knowing exactly if the ball was a strike as they should.

Fitting end to a truly horrible effort all around
