(He did single for the only Sox hit). I’m not sure what Venable is trying to accomplish with these goofy lineups, Get him an extra look at the top of the lineup? If they can get him hitting at all, he's a power threat.

fathom
Quero better find a way to elevate the ball, especially against RHP. He’s hitting the ball on the ground more than Eloy ever did.
PaleAleSox
Slater, Rojas, Capra and all of the other vets that were brought in that are now gone have just been fucking terrible. Tauchman is the only one doing literally anything.

You can keep Slater and Taylor just for 4th and 5th outfielders and insurance for injuries but I don’t want to see these guys starting anymore, they have a good game once in awhile but never were great in their careers, they’re low or mid 600 OPS guys. Yeah, he has been the 2nd most successful and wouldn't look as bad if Rojas/Capra/the rest weren't bringing the whole idea down.

It’s really amazing how low our standards have become the last few years. Looking at the fWAR numbers for the first time in weeks was depressing today. In a perfect world there wouldn’t be such a thing as framing with umpires knowing exactly if the ball was a strike as they should.
