I think the guy who had the least trade value last year was Ohtani. You knew he would be that property of the few big spenders. In Jerry's fake new conference he said he wasn't going to sign. Like DUH! Every team in baseball would have to consider due to the marketing possibilities as well as $46 million present day value of $70 million per year. greg775
The announcers made a good point. Kershaw will be the last pitcher in baseball history to hit the 3,000 mark in strikeouts. Amazing.

I can't see him being a starter but hopefully he gets a shot could easily be a starter as he already has a decent 3 pitch mix. These days being "stretched out" means a 5-6 inning guy anyways. His motion and him having to dial it down a bit, I just can't see him having the same success but it certainly is possible

This is not because of kershaw's greatness, it has to do with pitch counts and the way pitchers are managed. It's another way the game has changed. I've seen quite a few of the 3k+ pitchers, and kershaw is not the one I'd pick to take the mound. It's an achievement for a HOF pitcher to be sure. But Austin Slater don't care, and neither do I.
