Nine games better than the Rockies gets you last place. Trading away a good staff gets you last place. Trading for hopefully good hitters gets you last place.

First Sox game I have watched start to finish in a long time. I really hope Montgomery can hit consistently because a combo of him and Meidroth could be special. I love Quero and Teel. They say Champi

I base his value on being on a team for a couple months. What does a GM trade for that?  We shall see.

Unlike Fedde he's had MLB success before and although he hasn't pitched since the beginning of the season like Fedde did you just can't step onto a mound and get MLB hitters out for as long and as well as he has without a lot of talent but also the changes he made to more fundamental levels pertaining to his  his health.

His age shouldn't be a concern for any team looking to bolster their chances of winning in the playoffs. Right now at worst he's a #3 starter on most playoff teams but we are a long way from the playoffs .

He should fetch a little more than Fedde did but it's hard to know exactly what Fedde was worth since he was traded In a package deal. Kopech certainly was a big part of that package .

hopefully Getz learned to avoid those deals.  Rare does that work out for habitual losers that can't scout or develop. Sure someone will bring up one.  "Once Johnny, once!"

Getting a pitcher in return would seem not the best idea.
