Gabe Davis RHP Ht: 6'9" | Wt: 225 | B-T: R-R School: Oklahoma State Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted Age At Draft: 21.7 BA Grade: 45/High Davis is a mountain of a pitcher with a 6-foot-9, 235-pound frame who has flashed huge arm talent throughout his Oklahoma State career. He’s never thrown more than 50 innings in a season and missed much of the 2024 fall after breaking his collarbone. He then pitched sporadically in 2025 and dealt with shoulder issues. Working mostly out of the bullpen this spring, Davis posted a 5.92 ERA in 24.1 innings with a 23.2% strikeout rate and 12.8% walk rate. At his best, Davis has shown stuff that warrants a selection in the first two rounds. He sits in the mid 90s with a high-spin heater that has been up to 100 mph and could play up thanks to his well above-average extension. His present command of the pitch could mitigate any extra value the pitch might get from his release traits, and he tends to be scattered and erratic in general. Davis throws a mid-80s slider that has plus potential with hard movement. He will also mix in a mid-80s changeup and an occasional curveball around 80 mph. Davis likely fits best in the bullpen where he can focus on his fastball/slider combination, but he’ll need to improve his control to pitch in high-leverage situations. He could fit somewhere between rounds 4-7 on draft day. Scouting Grades: Fastball: 60 | Slider: 60 | Curveball: 40 | Changeup: 40 | Control: 40. Shelton is a below-average runner and fringy defensive shortstop who was fine at the position in college, but might be a better fit at third base or second base at the next level. His footwork and actions are stiff at times and his overall quickness limits his range, though he does have arm strength for the left side of the infield. These prep players have leverage. They have college commitments they can honor. They can bet on themselves to make more money by going to school. NIL now factors into the equation as well.
