I'm not seeing anything on Twitter about Tauchman or even Houser. I would imagine if those guys move, it will be around 4:30 on Thursday afternoon. I don’t expect Tauchman to move. Houser is likely the backup plan for multiple teams. No pitchers have been traded.
ChiSoxFanMike
I like Tauchman but don’t understand why they would keep him unless the offers are terrible. He’s old and won’t be here when the team could be good again.

Regardless, with Montgomery on the horizon and Benintendi unfortunately signed for two more seasons (2026 and 2027), it wouldn’t make much sense to sign a free agent corner outfielder for multiple years in the offseason. Konerko was 38; Ventura 37, Guillen 36, Dick Allen 35, Billy WIlliams 38, George Brett 40, Big Hurt 41.

The fact that he has an extra year of control should make him even more valuable as a trade chip, I would think.

It's not so much age as it is mobility, injuries, etc. I don't think 34 is old for baseball, even for a corner outfielder. Tauchman has had some injuries this year, and that could be concerning. But he's been healthy for a while (of course, since I typed that he'll blow a hamstring tying his cleats today). I'm in the camp of keeping him for next year as a bridge to Montgomery. However, if a team offers the right return, you don't hesitate to pull the trigger.

Absolutely. Combined with having a nice year at the plate and being a great veteran presence, he's a fairly valuable asset.

Is it just me or does it feel like an extra year keeps getting added to Beni’s contract? I swear he’s gonna still be on the team in 2035. Sure does. https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/andrew-benintendi-white-sox-deal.html Perhaps we should be somewhat happy that Jerry always refused to sign any player to a massive 10+ year deal. Of course the one time everyone wanted to do it was with Harper and that one would have been worth it.
