Tucker will still obviously get paid but his second half has not been to his next contract.  He’s also given the Cubs an excuse to not pay him.

Cubs would have been better off keeping Bellinger

They're really "Imanaga and Boyd, and pray to not be so annoyed"

Losing Horton was a huge hit for them. He was easily their best starter in the 2nd half. Boyd was fading due to him not pitching a whole lot of innings in recent years and Imanaga was mid all year. Taillon is probably their best starter right now.

So performative for absolutely no reason

The replay of him sitting on the track looking all dejected and the ball bouncing back was great.

Adrian Houser would have been a great addition. But Civale should have probably started one of these games for them.

Huh?  The Sox stole Garland from the Cubs for garbage Karchner and won that trade.  The Sox traded Vaughn to the Brewers for awful Civale and Vaughn boomed and the Brewers won the trade.  How to those two things relate?

Both impacted the Cubs quite negatively...

Sox got a the breakthrough WS win before the Cubs eventually did in 2016 and Vaughn was the primary reason Milwaukee passed the Cubs and took away home field advantage this year.  Karchner sucked with the Cubs and Q was just so-so.

Can probably add Cease/Jimenez for Q.

Sosa for Bell another story.

what

simply what. Milwaukee was better all season. Cubs might've thought to add some starting pitching or not to have their offense be reliant upon a career .680 OPS catcher.

I think the question is "how does any of this service my 'Chris Getz sucks at every turn' narrative".
