He had bad numbers against the cubs this year. They should've just gone with Quintana

Rumor was Brewers scouts didn’t think he was a good matchup.  They were hoping wind blowing in would help.

It almost worked. Busch's homer almost got blown back in. You can probably argue that Suzuki's fly out might be a homer on a good day too.

You absolutely cannot let those two bat there

The Brewers have a bunch of switch hitters. Why let Lockridge give away an out?

"If everyone was fully healthy, we'd probably see the second of those. It sure feels like Chourio staying in left against the righty starter is a way to hide his balky hamstring in a corner spot, although the corner outfielders at Wrigley Field often have plenty of running to do in their own right. That does raise the question, though, of why we're not seeing Yelich play left, with Chourio slotted in as the DH instead. It feels like confirmation that Yelich, who missed a few days during September when his back flared up yet again, simply isn't available to play the field at the moment. He hasn't started there since August 27.

With Yelich locked into the DH spot, if we also assume Chourio had to be in left, then the outfield question comes down to a few things. Starting Lockridge indicates that Murphy prefers him to Perkins, even though Perkins is at least as good a defender and would have the platoon edge. It also says that the team isn't currently treating Frelick as an option in center."

Gotta trust Murphy there at this point with his decisions...as well as bringing Quintana in instead of holding him back to start G4.

Peralta will be on normal rest by tomorrow. There's no reason to save Quintana unless you're trying to save him for game 5.

Didn't Peralta start on Sunday?

Or it's just showing up on my phone that way because Sun China/US Saturday?

Do you throw Peralta on three day's rest/95 pitchers on Sunday...or hold him back for a potential G5 at home with rest???

Interesting decision.

The extra off day between games 1 and 2 means that Peralta will be on 4 days rest. Same with Boyd.

"In postseason history, teams taking a 2-0 lead in any best-of-five series have gone on to win that series 80 of 90 times (88.9%). In Division Series with the current 2-2-1 format, teams to win both Games 1 and 2 at home have advanced 31 of 34 times (91.2%), including 20 sweeps. The most recent comeback in both situations came in the 2017 American League Division Series, when the Yankees rallied past Cleveland."

Cubs still going against a lot of history here...
