He’s a bench guy on a one year deal making $1.25 million.  He is replacing 40 year old Justin Turner.  I doubt the Cubs are looking at him as anything but that.

Well, 90-95% are positive about Carlos Rodriguez, at least.  Maybe it's a carry over effect from winning the #1 pick.

They’re up to a projected $259MM in tax commitments. They’ll exceed the $244MM base threshold for the second straight season. Repeat payors are taxed at a 30% rate for their first $20MM in overages. Re-signing King costs around $4.5MM in taxes.

Not that I think they will sign him, but does Murakami have to a deal finalized by Monday or just agreed to? If it’s the former, you would think an announcement would happen today.
