Sox linked to Patrick Wisdom

Thankfully the Rockies and A's still exist. Sox are bad, but there are other teams in the same boat.

At least A's only two seasons away from a brand new stadium in a "vibrant" city...instead of morbidly counting down with a death march.

I don't understand why there'd even be interest on a minor league deal. Any MLB organization seriously considering Patrick Wisdom at this point in his career should be embarrassed.

Wisdom couldn’t even hit lefties in his most recent MLB sample and is now 34. Unless it’s a spring training invite, I don’t get the point of this.

There’s no scenario where this is a good idea. No upside here.

Don't know to respond to this.

Should we be "relieved" for wont of a better word that the White Sox, Rockies and A's are being talked about in the same sentence?

Instead of the White Sox by themselves? 😐

"Patrick Wisdom will be playing for KBO’s Kia Tigers in 2025. This is, I think, a great landing spot for Wisdom, who turned 33 in August. He ought to hit quite a few home runs in Korea, and will probably make more money than he would have in MLB in 2025. He’s got a friendly personality and could very well become a fan favorite over there.

Wisdom hit 84 home runs in a Cubs uniform, which is tied for 37th on the all-time Cubs list with Ron Cey and Moose Moryn. He hit 28 in just 106 games in 2021, setting a single-season record for Cubs rookies and finishing fourth in NL Rookie of the Year voting.

In the summer of 2022, Wisdom hit a couple of colossal home runs to Waveland Avenue. Here’s some analysis of those distances. He always had that sort of prodigious power, but could never hit for a high enough BA or cut down on the strikeouts enough to stay as an everyday regular. Kind of a poor man’s Mark Reynolds."

Trying to sell a handful of tickets to Cubs' fans that can no longer afford to attend games at Wrigley?

Seriously. Makes little to no sense for the Sox. Is Bruce shiiling for a former Cub trying to come back stateside?

Las Vegas is never the answer.

Actually, "laughing stock" isn't a thing.

God, I remember being afraid of being laughed at as a child. Then I turned 7 and stopped caring.

Can you explain how a passing mention from the "always wrong" Bruce Levine sells tickets? Did you just buy a fistful upon hearing this news?

Why doesn't he mention signing Kyle Tucker instead?  They're equally meaningful to the the next Sox playoff team.

That didn't answer how an erroneous Bruce Levine "rumor" sells tickets. Would a Bruce Levine rumor motivate you to do anything beyond posting non-sequiturs?

Caulfield’s posts are just a random string of incoherent thoughts that just don’t ever connect. Best to stay away.

And when have you ever said anything meaningful or memorable?

A decade ago.  Maybe.

I've probably forgotten more than you know about baseball.

Please stick to politics.

When have I ever said anything political? You know what. Nevermind. Sure. I’ll stick to politics.

Bruce Levine probably has to generate X number of tweets or engagements per week.

He's just doing a favor to one of his favorites and likely an "inside source" when he played for the Cubs...easy enough to bring his name up in social media.

A shout out to agents that he's currently available to sign stateside.

Not even Getz is stupid enough to sign him for a lot less than he would make going back to Korea.

Clear enough for you Eddy?

Or you require further elucidation?

Only if the question is "where can I go to get video of me taking a dump stored in the ether for eternity?"

All over yahoo.

Unless there are two people with your same exact beliefs and same exact screen names in the US.

Possible but highly unlikely.

1/10,000 odds.

Wow, Getz isn't "stupid" enough to sign him, but you are far enough along to stoke this non-rumor.

I'm just curious how this sells tickets.

It doesn't serve any purpose unless the White Sox actually sign him...it's more just joking about how the Sox have completely forgotten they're actually in the ENTERTAINMENT business.

Signing Wisdom accomplishes less than nothing.

Just makes the Sox even more of a laughing stock.

And Bruce Levine's less relevant than Phil Rogers posting from Texas now. At least they trusted him with the Baseball America Top Ten Sox prospect lists for a decade.

Should we bring back your well-stoked and oft repeated theory that Elko and his promotion would lead to a considerable boost in non friends and family comped ticket sales for the Sox???

No, let's build upon my new "oft-stoked" prediction that Tim Elko will spawn a new world religion that launches Jesus, Muhammed, Buddah and Joseph Smith into anonymity.

Well, Bruce Levine's in every scrum I look up, so I wouldn't call him irrelevant. Somebody fed him the notion that the Sox were kicking the tires on the Wiz. Maybe Patrick "The Wiz" Wisdom should incorporate this video into his media resume:
