Nicaragua with three base runners on (K-wild pitch allowed one) in a row against heavy favorites DR en Miami.

1-0 no outs against C.Sanchez.

Vientos the big name for the Managuans/Dusty Baker vs. Pujols...

Bases loaded now, no outs. Vientos walked.

Suzuki defense in CF comes back to bite Japan...two more runs score off Kikuchi

3-0 Korea in the first

Suzuki makes up for it with a two run bomb

3-2 Korea after 1

Murakami k on 73 mph ch...korean sidearmer fb 84-87 but not easy to pick up

still 3-2 both pitchers settling in

back to top of the lineups in 3rd

Ohtani flipped a ball to lcf off a tough lefty reliever

tie game going to the 6th

manager Ibata is going to be tempted to sub Sato for Okamoto at 3B

 

 

Japan 5-4 vs Korea in wbc

2-2 vs. US

two losses in all other wbc games since 2009

Ohtani Suzuki Yoshida have looked good

Kondoh Okamoto Mune not so much   at least so far

Genda can really field SS smoothly at 33 and 2B Maki the spiritual leader of team

Japanese just don't mess up sac bunts

Ohtani will get a chance to drive in lead run barring a catastrophe on basepaths

Sato ph for Catcher    hard grounder to 1B down line

Intl walked Ohtani   two outs

ph for kondoh?   bringing in another lhr it seems

 

umpire very inconsistent with ball strike calls

walk  bases loaded for suzuki

 

6-5  walked in leading run

Seiya homers were 104.4  104.8  talk about consistent

Yoshida two run single up middle to break it open

8-5

8-6  Japanese reliever shakily left bases loaded   more bad ball/strike calls mixed in
