Literally nobody has ever said it's an important stat that has any sense at all. It's a fluke. A team has never been able to consistently outperform their talent in 1 run games outside a one season sa

He's been fubar'd with his usage too. Should just be keeping him as opener and now we are using him stupidly as a fireman I guess.

Him as the opener was so dumb. We don't have enough late inning guys to have him wasted for 1, maybe two innings to start the game.

the problem is we have two guys in the bullpen they can rely on, and they're both left handed

make taylor pitch the next inning too, f*** it

I love this trend of holding the bat at a 90 degree angle with a close stance. I wish I was 20 years younger would love to try that style out.

Walked away and it’s tied. Why the hell was Schweitzer the choice?

I love openers NGL.

Same reason people hit on 18.

Taylor is much better off in clean inning starts

I’ve kind of wondered if his is more of a focus thing. I think sometimes he knows his stuff is so good that he just kind of seems lackadaisical a bit, but when you watch that at bat against Witt you see him locked in. It’s like when he knows there’s no room for error he just looks more locked in from the start of the at bat as opposed to I know my stuff is better then you so I’m just probably going to get you out.

How many neck high fastballs can we swing at tonight?

Am I crazy or does Peters grip his bat like a little kid that isn’t strong enough to swing a wooden bat?

100%. Post more.

Peters was a decent story, but he’s not hitting at all now

Opener is the worst use case for a pitcher that you believe is good

Sam is a natural hitter. There's no way he's not a 120 OPS+ guy the next 5 years. I can't really remember a Sox that reminds me of him. Maybe young Mags, but he was righty and had way more power, but the plate coverage and mind is similar.

Peters has minor league options so I think he is pretty likely to go down to Charlotte if everybody gets healthy soon.

He just makes too many mistakes over the plate

Unless they overrate the grinder aspect

Who doesn't get their uniform dirty? Yoan would lay in the dirt when he got a ball 2" inside, and he'd bail, waiting for the trainers to run out. That gets your uniform dirty, too.

Still can't believe Will fucked this up

My guess is if anything, they'll overrate the left-handed aspect. But I think Getz really likes using minor league options to avoid making hard roster decisions, so that probably prevails.

One of the dumbest cliches around.

Something about the betting line.

I know im late to this but WTF is Venable doing letting a journeyman lefty face a RH bat with Taylor up and ready.

STUPID

May have lost a game because of that

He will have plenty of time since Teel and Hays appear to be the slowest healers in the history of baseball. 🤣
