We break down why baseball might be making a comeback, despite the popular narrative. #MLBThis is from 2022.What changed?Ohtani and the Dodgers? Judge/Yankees? More parity? Exploding popularity in Pacific Rim and influx of Asian talent? WBCs? Fall off from Lebron and the Warriors? Too many threes in NBA? MLB relatively more affordable and family oriented in comparison? 13 hours ago13 hr Author One thing that's interesting is the WNBA now passing NHL in average t.v. ratings...except for maybe peak Stanley Cup Finals Games 5-7.NASCAR has definitely gone backwards from high point 15+ years ago.No Tiger-Phil in golf. LIV distractions.MMA/wrestling trending upwards.College football ratings have never been higher, at least the Big Ten and SEC.NCAA softball way up.

Youth viewership.Viewership demographics.Advertising/corporate sponsorship dollars.

Stay away from CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, NY Times, etc. You seem to know the usual suspects so why are you acting surprised?

Soccer will remain a distant sidebar in US sports

Growing up I had absolutely no knowledge of soccer at all. We played sandlot baseball games all day until dinner time in the summer, football in the fall, hockey in the winter. If soccer was thing in my youth, we probably would have played pick-up games, we had tons of kids in the neighborhood.

They probably sit on their bikes outside the back door of their friends' house and just yell their name until they come out.

American professional soccer doesn't really get the top stars, so I'd guess it's hard to develop an enduring fan base to watch American up-and-comers and world stars in their twilight. It's probably like fans coming out to watch a 45-year-old Ricky Henderson play in the Atlantic League.
1 hour ago1 hr In with the new out with the old. As Boomers and Gen X age out the generations that grew up with soccer will continue to grow the sport.
