While Sox / Mets had rumored Peralta framework

Featured Replies

Could Boston Smith be the sell high guy? The last time the Sox traded for a starting pitcher named Freddy, Jeremy Reed was part of the package. Reed hit .409 down in Birmingham and was thought to be a future superstar. Peralta does have the pedigree to command a return; he was 5th in CY last year and has plenty of playoff experience.

I would rather have a controllable player if possible.

If my scouts like Peralta, I’d do Wolkow+ but that second prospect would have to be less than Smith.

Fully disagree on Wolkow. Teams have shifted towards prioritizing youth and ceiling in these types of deals. You say he’s been spinning in circles for a long time, yet he is a 20 year old in High A

Emotionally, I don't really want to part with Wolkow cuz he's a local guy that seems to be progressing. Obviously, he's expendable. Intellectually, I'm more attached to Boston Smith. Tearing up the So

I'd be fine trading Smith. He's probably not really a catcher and at 23 this is probably the most hyped he'll be as a prospect. Selling high on a 23 year old not ready to help us in Chicago is fine imo.

The only reason you trade for Peralta if you think you can fix him and quickly do it.

There is a risk that he is no better than Fedde.

This, I think a lot of people are overvaluing Smith here. He likely doesn't even stick at catcher. Using him as a trade chip to improve the MLB club for a playoff push is exactly what he should be used for IMO. But the fact this even leaked, it likely isn't going to happen - Getz and co. are always flying under-the-radar.

I’m fine trading Boston Smith… but I am NOT fine trading him for Peralta on a rental basis.

Whoever gets Peralta, he’ll return to form. Playing for the Mets is a curse.

Wolkow w the slam

This could be a strong indicator of how far Getz is wading into the pool. Shallows

Fedde is better than Peralta. You think the Brewers would trade us Made (and more) for him?

Make sure Stearns sees this. Getz basically traded for Acuna because of his 3 HR game in Venezuela.

Maybe sarcasm doesn't read on the internet but it seemed pretty fucking obvious. There's genuine talk about giving up two real prospects for a rental with a 5 ERA. I feel like you guys want the White Sox to be bad.

You have been posting stupid crap lately so no one knows what to believe. Like picking up Marco Gonzales to improve the rotation. No one is going to take your posts seriously if you keep making stupid ones.

You simply don't get it, dude, and never have.

You think we should be able to land Reid Detmers for Kyle Lodise & change…it’s not that far fetched than you actually think Fedde is better than Peralta.

Perhaps you should google “sarcasm” and learn how to employ it, because no one but you is picking it up. Boner.

Prediction — Wolkow never makes the majors. The dude has a 32% strikeout rate in Single A and you are sweating even giving up a prospect of his caliber. You aren’t getting s%*# if you won’t even give up a prospect like Wolkow.

You simply don't get it, dude, and never have.

I think we shouldn't trade for him unless that's what it would take. Thus, don't trade for him. It's closer to his value than what you are suggesting as we'll find out soon. As the Silseth trade might've indicated to you.

Wouldn't be shocked if they are dangling Sandlin

Welcome to the Hall of Fame List. It’s been long overdue.
