I imagine A’s/Guardians series will go exactly as we expect.

All the more reason for the Sox to just take care of their own business.

Not sure they look that much different to me outside of the hot streak vs. COL/LAA. 5 shutouts in their last 20 games, feels like this place would burn down if the Sox were going scoreless 25% of the

Let’s go Baltimore. With this few amount of games remaining, 3 games up seems so much better than 2 games up.

  • We really just need to take one of those games in Cleveland and get the tie breaker. Just don't get swept

Rangers lose. Back to 2 games up on the 2nd wild card team with a tiebreaker. That's big for our overall postseason hopes.

Red Sox are absolutely not gonna help us down the stretch. They can't hit at all right now.

Red Sox win!

Clev has a horse shoe up their ass but aren't any good. Athletics will have a shot imo to take 2/3.

Glad to be of service. I was typing that just as Story was coming to the plate.

So that makes the magic number for the post-season 7?

Yup, winning 5 of the last 9 basically ensures we at least get into the postseason.

5-4 finish means Texas Toronto now need to go 8-1 to win outright, 7-2 to tie

Cleveland would need 6-3

a 6-3 Sox finish means CLE needs 7-2

Great day for playoff hopes. I think Jays win 2 of 3 against Rangers.

Jays take at least 1 of 3. Quantrill has been pitching well. That Soriano start won't be a gimme.

looks like Gavin Williams going Fri on short rest against A's at home after getting six full days off before Monday's White Sox game

Love it. Appreciate your assist.

I bet he gets pushed back to pitch against Boston. Do they really need to throw their best pitcher against the A's to win?

Jesus, that Rangers loss was HUGE. Vaulted us up 13% points to almost 80% again from 2/3 odds.

Yup, it basically forces the 3 teams chasing us in the wild card race to be near perfect down the stretch. We're effectively 3 games up with 9 to play on Toronto and Texas.

What's sad is that we'd be in the same spot for the division had we just closed out the game on Tuesday.

Texas has seemingly hovered around in that -6 to E space all year

very similar to Sox no long streaks either way

Was thinking similar, if we had just not blown those 2 games with Cle this s%*# is basically wrapped up.

If they do go on and make the playoffs, the one big positive is going to be this extra week of games with close to do or die pressure each day...CLE definitely played like it was G7 after they lost the first game and had their backs against the wall.

Just like 2008 down the stretch (five losses in a row followed by three must win games), even though it really didn't carry into Tampa despite all the Alexei dramatics.

Tonight, Cleveland is facing the pitcher who gave up the triple to Peters to secure the cycle. He’s got a solid 7.08 ERA, and the A’s have lost the last 10 games he has appeared in. He wasn’t starting until his last four outings. None of those four went well for him.
