Caleb Bonemer heading to the AFL

Will be interested to see how he responds to the type of raw and upper stuff type of pitching he will see there.

To me, he's almost in the category of being too advanced to be worth sending there. But the position switch is a good justification to send him down there.

But it's really a promotion since (almost) all teams send their best High A and AA prospects to that league at least once...

Does he really need the AFL at this point?

Hard to imagine the hitting stock could possibly improve but validating that he can play LF and CF would be huge.

I think it's possible he's up well before that depending on how bats perform and defensive alignments are aligned.

I still think Antonnacci's future is a Ben Zobrist-type super sub.

A lot more power required to get to Zobrist.

Those 23 or whatever hbp's are really boosting him to that 750ish ops ATM.

Except he's still grading out at best as an average overall LFer due to his defense. Obviously he could play second too, but not sure he has the arm strength for third or how often you would even sit Vargas/Bonemer/Colson there.

Maybe a combo of Chone Figgins/Zobrist, without the topline speed or light tower pop.
